Mission Statement


To increase awareness of and access to suicide prevention and mental health services in Wyoming, with a particular focus in Albany County; to fund, operate, and promote a suicide prevention talk and text crisis hotline; and to fund and promote programs, educational opportunities, and services that strive to de-stigmatize access to mental health support and instill a sense of hope, resiliency, and empowerment in individuals impacted by issues of mental health and suicide.

Narrative Description of Activities


The Foundation will engage in activities to promote, educate, and increase awareness of suicide prevention and mental health services in Wyoming with a particular focus on Albany County, Wyoming.

The Foundation will engage in fund-raising and seek and apply for grants to continue the operation of a Talk and Text Suicide Prevention Hotline operated at Ivinson Memorial Hospital in Laramie, Wyoming. Some of the funds obtained from fund-raising or grants will be used to obtain accreditation of the Talk and Text Hotline as a crisis line that qualifies for interface with the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline and for possible expansion of the Hotline to a Wyoming State-wide suicide prevention crisis line.

The Foundation will engage in advertising and promotional activities to fund and promote programs, educational opportunities, and services that strive to de-stigmatize access to mental health support and instill a sense of hope, resiliency, and empowerment in individuals impacted by issues of mental health and suicide.



The Foundation will also promote and fund evidence-based suicide prevention and postvention activities within Wyoming schools and Wyoming communities to encourage individuals who may be struggling with mental health and suicidal issues to seek help. The Foundation will also use fund-raising and grants to continue a Sources of Strength evidence-based suicide prevention program underway at Albany County, Wyoming schools including the University of Wyoming and the Albany County Campus of Laramie County Community College.

Charitable Purposes of the Corporation


The Corporation is organized as a public benefit corporation under the Wyoming Nonprofit Corporation Act and shall be operated exclusively for charitable, religious, educational, and scientific purposes within the meaning of Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, or the corresponding section of any future Federal tax code. More specifically, the Corporation’s purpose shall be to increase awareness of and access to suicide prevention and mental health services in Wyoming, with a particular focus in Albany County; to fund, operate, and promote a suicide prevention crisis help line; and to fund and promote programs, educational opportunities, and services that strive to de-stigmatize access to mental health support and instill a sense of hope, resiliency, and empowerment in individuals impacted by issues of mental health and suicide.
